The idea to start developing special colors for our customers came from requests we have gotten over the years and the happy accidents that occur when we are making colors from our color line. Having been at R&F for 6 years, Matt is one of our most experienced Paintmakers. The colors you see here aim to "fill in the gaps" of our existing color line. Using carefully constructed tints of our already complicated mixes, these colors are "gradual steps between" an Egyptian Violet and an Ultramarine Violet. Both tints are cooler versions of a warmer tint, our Cerulean X-Pale. Matt would like to continue experimenting with new colors including a deeper tint of King's Blue that removes the heaviness of the white, colored tints with iridescents, and individual colors that aren't used in our mixes such as transparent colors made into opaque tints. These are improvised paints so they are in limited supply. To get them before they are gone, check out the special colors section in our online store.
