CALL FOR ENTRIES - The Divas & Iron Chefs of Encaustic

Contemporary Encaustic:  A Multi-Part Venture in Conjunction with the 2006 SECAC/MACAA Conference

Part A: A panel discussion, which will bring together artists from both organizations that use encaustic as their primary medium.

Part B: A 3-hour interactive demonstration by six encaustic artists.  Selected artists will supply their own supports and tools.  Other materials including encaustic paints, medium, hot plates, and heat guns will be provided (Friday October 27th).

Part C:  An exhibition of encaustic works that originates at Vanderbilt University, October 25th - 28th (a traveling exhibition accompanied by a catalog is under development).

Seeking Artists at all points in their careers, interested in all or part of the above events.  Submit and artists statement stating your interest and describing your unique and/or historical approach to encaustic painting.  Include your resume and 12-20 slides or digital documentation in Powerpoint on cd.  No entry fee.  Membership in either organization is required.  Refer to
