Woodstock Photo WorkshopI'm having a little trouble deciding if the photo workshop is right for me. It sounds perfect in some ways; I want to incorporate photography into my encaustic work and I want to learn how to create transparencies that will work with the medium. I have worked with encaustic for the last six years and am comfortable with the medium although I'm sure there is much I could learn since I am mainly self-taught. I am not a skilled photographer, but a decent amateur. It's going to take some effort to get to Woodstock since I live in Arkansas. Can someone on your staff give me an opinion on whether or not the workshop will be appropriate for me. Is there anywhere to stay in Woodstock that wouldn't be terribly expensive? |

Re: Woodstock Photo WorkshopI took this class last summer and it was fantastic. I had never worked with encaustics and was mainly a photographer. I had some previous experience in alternate photography methods (cyanotypes, transfers) so some of the class was redundant for me, but overall the workshop was great. I stayed in Woodstock for two nights and then Kingstown for two. There are B&B's in Woodstock and it is a fun little town, but I found staying at a larger hotel in Kingstown was more comfortable. It is approximately 10 minutes away from Woodstock so if you decided to stay there for the entire workshop it isn't a bad commute. There are larger chain hotels at lower prices. Hope this helps in making a decision. Good luck... |
