pregnancy and encaustic

hello everybody.
i'm new on this forum, so i hope i'm doing this right.

i recently found out that i am pregnant and i am an encaustic painter.
i am worried about hazards to my baby.

i am assuming working with dry pigments would not be wise.  does anybody know about safety when layering oil paint with beeswax?
i don't want to be paranoid, but i want to keep my baby safe.

thank you!

You've hit upon Lissa Rankin's two areas of expertise. Why not check with her?

No matter what medium we work in, I think that good ventilation is crucial. Also, I used to keep my stuff locked in a cupboard I bought for that purpose when my kids were small. :]
