The R&F Gallery - Submission Guidelines

gallery_at_rf_submission_guidelines

R&F is committed to supporting and encouraging individual artists.  To that end, we have developed the following opportunities.

Artists are asked to consider the appropriateness of their work in relation to the Gallery program before submitting.  The Gallery at R&F is a space within the factory of R&F Handmade Paints, which is one of the few manufacturers of encaustic and pigment sticks in the world.  Thus, the gallery promotes contemporary uses of oil and encaustic paint, rarely if ever featuring other media.

We present six exhibitions each year, including a Juried International Biennial of Encaustic Works. Artists working with pigment stick or encaustic, (it need not be R&F products), who are interested in having their work considered for our exhibition program should send a packet to the attention of:

Laura Moriarty,  Exhibition and Workshop Director / The Gallery at R&F / 84 Ten Broeck Ave / Kingston, NY 12401

Please include:

  • Jpeg images on a disc - please only submit professional quality reproductions of your work.
  • Corresponding slide/digital file information sheet - preferred on disc as a word document
  • Current resume - preferred on disc as word document
  • A self-addressed envelope with adequate postage for the return of your materials
Please understand that, though we are always interested in seeing your work, only a small proportion of our exhibitions are selected through unsolicited submissions.  Our staff is small and busy, and cannot give feedback or follow-up on your work, but be assured that we view all submissions.  We may hold onto your disc for some time before responding, but would appreciate artists submitting only once per year.
