R&F Grant Opportunities

artist_rc_grantops_500x245

R&F offers scholarships for workshops throughout the year.  Our scholarships are intended for people who would not otherwise be able to afford to take the workshop.  Artists awarded a scholarship are asked to work as assistant in exchange for free tuition.  The workload is light, (picking up the lunch, helping keep the studio organized, etc.), so that you are not too busy to gain personal benefit from the workshop.  Though tuition is free of charge, successful applicants are responsible for their travel and lodging expenses.  Applications for Scholarship are reviewed and selected by R&F staff, who will consider both professional merit and personal need.

Application procedure for Scholarships/Assistantships - please submit the following:

  1. Resume
  2. 4-5 images on a CD along with a corresponding image list as a word document on the CD
  3. A concise, one-page letter explaining
  • why you want to take the class
  • what special qualifications you might offer as studio assistant
  • what about your particular situation would you like us to consider in making our
  • determination of your financial need, and how will taking this workshop benefit that situation?
Your application should be received at least two months prior to the starting date of any of the scheduled workshops you are interested in taking. We will make every effort to place you in the workshop of your choice, but students paying full tuition must take priority.  We therefore suggest that you provide us with a list of three workshop choices, in order of preference.

Send applications to:  Laura Moriarty / Workshop Director / R&F Handmade Paints / 84 Ten Broeck Ave / Kingston, NY 12401 or click here to submit via email.
