Encaustic Works 2009

April 1st, 2009 by Darin

This weekend will mark the 7th juried biennial Encaustic Works show.   This year’s juror is accomplished artist, Heather Hutchison.

DIVIDED (2007)

The response this year was greater than ever.  The quality of the work we received was extremely high and the artists  come from all over the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Greece.  The exhibition will open this Sunday, April 5th, 2-4pm at The Castle Gallery at the College of New Rochelle and will run through June 19th.  The show was organized by R&F’s Gallery Director,  Laura Moriarty.

Cynthia Winika, workshop instructor for R&F will present an encaustic demonstration on Thursday, April 16, from 6 - 8 pm in the gallery.  The exhibit and related events are free and open to the public.  We hope to see you there but if you can’t make it there is a complete catalogue available as well.  Congratulations to all of the participants and thank you to everyone who helped to pull this show together.

Very interesting images, and great looking show. Is there a list somewhere of those in the exhibition? Images of individual work?

Congratulations to everyone in the show!
