Naples Yellow Encaustic



A versatile paint for fine artists, R&F Encaustics are composed of beeswax, damar resin and pigments. In a molten state, it is applied to an absorbent ground and then fused, or re-melted, to acheive a range of effects, from glass-like smoothness to rich, impasto-like textures.

A lead-free mix, it captures the low key sweet yellow of the traditional lead-based color.

Safety Information

TEMPERATURE WARNING

Avoid overheating this product. Wax will release toxic fumes when heated above the decomposition temperature. Addition of solvents to this product will release fumes which may be harmful when heated. Do not heat above 200°F (93°C). Use with ventilation.

Contains Cadmium or Cobalt compounds which can cause Cancer by ingestion. (Risk of Cancer depends on duration and level of exposure). DO NOT SWALLOW, wash hands and face after use and before eating or smoking. If swallowed, see a physician.
