Collage | Assemblage / May 9th-11th / Kingston / 3 Day

Beeswax is a natural preservative with great adhesive qualities, which makes encaustic an ideal material for collage and assemblage work. This workshop will explore the possibilities of encaustic, rather than glue, as the foundations for these works on paper and panel. We will explore a wide variety of weights and types of fine art papers, repurposed papers and other similar materials, as well as low-relief 3-D objects. Different ways of planning your composition and incorporating various types of elements will be demonstrated. Class size is limited to between 8-12 participants.
