When will they dry?I'm new to the oil sticks they are besutiful but they are so wet I want to make more layers over them but it has been 3 days and they are still glistening. What am I missing? |

Re: When will they dry?You are not missing anything, Nan; they are a slow-drying paint. The drying time varies, sometimes greatly, for different colors, intense carbon black being one of the slowest to dry. We do, however, make a blending stick with drier for those who would like to speed things along. |

Re: When will they dry?some colors will take months to dry. I suggest not even using the blacks. They take far too long to dry. Unless you are painting over encaustic, which really seems to help drying time. |

Re: When will they dry? That's not a very nice suggestion, doodler. Some artists believe they are worth the wait. |

Re: When will they dry?OK, thanks - does the blender stick have a dryer in it - it that the dryer you referred to and also what about putting a little Liquin onto the substrate when working - wouldn't that help the drying? |
|
Re: When will they dry? Also - besides black which ones take the longest to dry - Yikes - months is a long time. |

Re: When will they dry?I'm dipping the end of my stick in a bit of Liquin (or similar) and then start working with them - helps the drying time |
